At the Swiss Post Makeathon, a variety of teams composed of developers, ideators and designers will develop innovative products and services.
The technical trend towards digitization is accompanied by social changes. Swiss Post has to move with the times in order to meet today’s customer requirements while anticipating those of tomorrow.
So what will Swiss Post’s branches of the future look like? Which requirements will they need to meet and which services will they have to provide to remain attractive to customers in 2025 and bring value added? With the help of usage data relating to the services we provide in our post offices as well as data accessible to the public (e.g. commuter data, demographic data, etc.), we analyse present day customer habits and draw conclusions regarding future needs.
As a participant, this year’s Makeathon will offer you a unique insight into the world of a modern service provider. Swiss Post branches are still the main access point for all Swiss Post services. The range of services covers the communications, logistics, finance and mobility markets.
Help develop innovative approaches through team work with other participants, with the goal of overcoming the challenges presented above. In addition to experts from Swiss Post and the University of Fribourg, representatives from the fields of consulting and start-ups will be available to help the teams, answering questions and providing specific tips with regard to logistics, analytics and business modelling.
The contacts created at the event could lead to interesting opportunities, ranging from the further development of the project to career opportunities. In addition, the three best presentations will be awarded prize money again this year (1st place: CHF 3,000; 2nd place: CHF 2,000; 3rd place: CHF 1,000).
